Heat shield is manufactured from low thermal conductivity composite to keep the hot air of the engine out of the intake air. This head shield is form fitted to match the engine compartment and includes sealing material to create an air tight seal against hood thus reducing the chances of hot engine air mixing with the intake air.

Cold, dense intake increases horsepower. Typical competitive heat shields generally use aluminum (about 100 times less effective) or steel (about 50 times less effective) heat shields that actually conduct heat into the intake air rather than insulate against heat transfer.
